A heavenly secret Alpine escape, run with flair by charming owners Anne-Françoise and Claude Buchs. It’s the sweetest, prettiest place and there is now a small but very special spa – as far from the clinical as you can get – with massages using Swiss-pine and silver-fir extracts, body wraps in mineral-rich soil from the valley, natural masks enriched with glacial water, facial creams made with edelweiss, yarrow and dog-rose essential oils. There’s also a swimming-pool beside a blazing log fire and you can relax in wicker chairs swaddled in soft blankets and admire fabulously snowy views. Itty-bitty St-Luc is definitely not the place for expert skiers but, if you want to try the area’s excellent off-piste, whip over to Grimentz, just 15 minutes away.
